An excellent, though deeply depressing movie of O'Neill's autobiographical play of the same name.

Well acted. Emotional. Strong characters. Okay for kids to watch. Not too violent. No sex scenes. Kids might learn vicariously from the movie. 3.5 hours long. It took me 4 nights to watch it. But, all dialogue is necessary. I can't think of one line which could be illiminated to make the story shorter. It is the true story about Eugene O'Neill's family. Eugene, the writer, is the sickly brother Edmund in the story. Knowing the biography of the the writer will help you understand the story better. The father in real life did act for 30 years in the same role & same play successfully. The library description of the movie is very accurate & sufficiently detailed for you to know what you are in for watching this movie.
