Directed by John Crowley in 2003, this Irish black comedy depicts an interconnected story.
Fifty-four characters and eleven mangled storylines intersect with a lot of yawns, no thrills nor interests.
It features several of Ireland's best-known actors, but the film turns out a work of an amateurish filmmaker.
What a pity! A film student would make a much better movie.

It’s not as polished as an Altman feature, the editing is a bit sloppy, and it tries to be more clever than it really is, but Crowley’s colourful snapshot of Dubliners at work and play does possess a certain charm all its own.     The fact that he managed to round up a very talented cast doesn’t hurt either.  Think of it as a big bowl of Irish stew......there’s not much to it, but you walk away satisfied just the same.

Did not find it very funny - thought the story was a bit of a mess, like the characters in it. It is intended to be a dark, dry comedy, but comes across a bit pathetic. Nice showcase of younger Irish actors - Cillian Murphy, Colin Farrell and the lovely Kelly MacDonald (she's Scottish). Lots of swearing and violence - a bit all over the place. Turn on the English subtitles - the Irish accent gets a bit thick. Overall, the movie needed more brown sauce!

I liked this movie. Cillian Murphy was good as usual. I really loved the ending.

Didn't find it funny, just dark. Between the shaky camera and too many characters and nonstop mumbled dialogue it was a big mess.

I LOVED IT! A very funny, dark, irish comedy; i would have given it 5 stars but the violence towards women was uncalled for. Ive heard Colin Farrell was violent and I know he was acting but I just hate seeing a woman get punched (with a fist, not a slap), im glad he died at the end. Im glad i found it on the shelf and rented it.

A good movie that defies genre. Sort of an Action/romance/crime drama. Very well done. Very funny at times. The story is kind of all over the place and there are a lot of subplots and supporting characters. Very Irish. Thick accents and alot of slang as well as a lot of language.

Clever, quaint, Irish dramedy. Intersecting lives, interrupted by some bumbling and rumbling, that mostly end up in the pub. Heavy on the f-bombs (doesn't phase me, just an f.y.i.). The whole cast is excellent. Colm Meaney, Cillian Murphy, Farrell -- great actors, and well suited for their parts. Scottish beauty Kelly Macdonald is SO pretty... man. A funny movie, especially the mustache bit.
