Napoleon spends his days drawing mythical beasts, duking it out with his older brother, Kip, and trying to avoid his scheming Uncle Rico. When two new friends enter Napolean's life - shy Deb and mustachioed Pedro - the trio launches a campaing to elect Pedro for class president and make the student body's wildest dreams come true. An awkwardly funny movie that everyone must see. No matter what we end up thinking of it, everyone should see Napoleon Dynamite at least once.

This movie is a great comedy full of laughter and good times. The way it captures Napoleon’s “thinking he’s cool” personality while still being himself (others don’t agree) and his friends short, usually one word responses made for a great movie, this movie is full of hilarious skits, awkward silences, strange dancing and much more I would recommend this movie to people who enjoy random comedy with a decent amount of completely random humour with a little bit of heart and friendship in it, and I can now see why I sometimes hear people refer to it as a “classic”. Vote For Pedro! I rate this movie 4 out of 5 stars

This movie tells the story of a young teenager, Napoleon, who has a difficult time fitting in. After his strange uncle moves in, he seeks refuge outside of his house and decides to befriend the new kid Pedro - even though he speaks minimal English. Together, they then decide to run for class president. This quirky and awkward movie has a comedic take on what many teenagers actually experience in middle school and highschool when being the “odd man out.” Though particularly strange at times, the movie is overall fairly good and will make you laugh. I would rate it 3.5/5 stars and recommend it to formerly awkward teenagers.

OK, I have seen a lot of negative reviews on this movie. It made me leery of even seeing it. This is the first movie I have seen in some time that doesn't have swear words or sex in any form so it is OK for any age. If you are or ever were just a little bit geeky, Napoleon is the hero for you. This movie is much funnier to a gen-x'er. There are a lot of things that you won't "get" if you weren't a part of the 80's. All in all, I think that it is a great way to spend an evening. I am looking forward to seeing more from this writer/director.

The most boring film I have ever seen. No wonder it has a bad reputation. I knew it would be stupid, but I thought it would be stupid funny. All I got was stupid. It has no plot whatsoever. Extremely boring. Don't watch it. You'll never get those two hours of your life back.

A few good moments at the end don't make up for the boredom.

Found it extremely painful to watch rather than funny. Fun dance he does near the end though.

This film has great skills. See it with some homemade cheese nachos or tatter tots and red drink.

To me, something being "quirky" (ie: random), does not equate to funny or clever. I guess if one already feels like they are "unconventional", then perhaps, one feels unimpressed with "oddball" things. I guess some people pride themselves TOO much on being "weird", as opposed to actually being genuinely interesting.

Napoleon Dynamite: [referring to Deb's milk] I see you're drinking 1%. Is that 'cause you think you're fat? 'Cause you're not. You could be drinking whole if you wanted to.

Deb: What are you drawing?
Napoleon: A liger.
Deb: What's a liger?
Napoleon: It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.

Napoleon Dynamite: Grandma just called and said you're supposed to go home.
Uncle Rico: She didn't tell me anything.
Napoleon Dynamite: Too bad, she said she doesn't want you here when she gets back because you've been ruining everybody's lives and eating all our steak.
Uncle Rico: I'm not goin' anywhere, Napoleon.
Napoleon Dynamite: Get off my property!
Uncle Rico: It's a free country. I can do whatever I want.
Napoleon Dynamite: Get off my property or I'll call the cops on you.
Uncle Rico: Well then do it! Go on!
Napoleon Dynamite: Maybe I will, GOSH!
